UNDERSTANDING THE UAE e-INVOICING FRAMEWORK

From invoice creation to compliant delivery

The UAE e-Invoicing framework defines how electronic invoices are created, validated, exchanged, and received between trading partners. Each stage plays a specific role in ensuring secure, standardized, and compliant invoice exchange across the network.

Implementation Note: While the invoice exchange process remains the same, the implementation approach varies based on your SAP landscape and may involve SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (SAP DRC), an Accredited Service Provider (ASP), or both.

1. Supplier

Creates the electronic invoice within the SAP system and initiates the invoice exchange process by submitting it through the designated integration solution.

2. Sending Integration (SAP DRC / ASP)

Validates the invoice, applies the required UAE e-Invoicing standards, and securely transmits it to the recipient through the Peppol network while supporting compliance requirements.

3. Receiving Integration (SAP DRC / ASP)

Receives the electronic invoice from the Peppol network, performs the required validation, and delivers it to the recipient's SAP system for business processing.

4. Buyer

Receives the compliant electronic invoice within the SAP system and processes it through standard business operations.

5. Federal Tax Authority (FTA)

Receives the required invoice data from the accredited integration provider for regulatory validation, monitoring, and compliance with the UAE e-Invoicing framework.
